Nick Pierce, President
During my career I worked as a Partner for 15 years for three global retainer search firms, including Heidrick & Struggles. After leaving Heidrick, I started a boutique retainer search firm, Pierce Consulting Partners, where I directed a team of highly accomplished partners which represented clients from Fortune 5 companies down to smaller growth focused private equity backed concerns.
EXECUTIVE COACHING:
After working in search for over 40 years, I decided to retire to Florida. However, not having developed any hobbies, I’ve failed at retirement and am now focused on working with discriminating executives seeking some level of counsel as it pertains to advancing their careers.
I’ve found that even the most accomplished executives often fail to understand how to prepare themselves for the highly competitive goal of achieving key executive roles which are most sought after. This is understandable since that has not been their job…but it has been mine.
What I can offer is a consulting arrangement, hourly or monthly, to help executives on a number of levels. This can consist of any of the following:

Noel Follrath, Partner
Noel Follrath is a partner with Pierce Consulting Partners, having joined the firm in 2003. With over twenty five years in executive search combined with a successful career in the financial services industry, he has served a wide variety of clients including investment banks, commercial banks, investment management firms, private equity, financial processing companies, multi-billion dollar family offices and industrial conglomerates. Prior to his association with Pierce Consulting Partners, he was a partner with Ray & Berndtson, an international retainer search firm where he was recognized for working on some of the firm’s largest searches.
Prior to his experience in executive search, Mr. Follrath served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Bank South Corporation. He began his career at First Chicago Corporation and received his B.S. degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Richard Marra, Partner
Richard Marra is a partner with Pierce Consulting Partners and has over 30 years of executive recruiting experience. He ran his own executive search firm for 15 years working on behalf of a diversified range of CEO’s and private equity leaders associated with multi-billion dollar portfolios. Richard’s clients include CNA Insurance Companies, Mercer Chicago, The Pritzker Group, Marsh USA and J. Walter Thompson. He is personally well-connected at the highest levels of the Chicago business community.
Prior to joining Pierce Consulting Partners, Richard was a Partner/Investor for an anti-microbial coatings company in addition to consulting for several start-up organizations. This included serving as President and Chief Operating Officer of Care Without Coverage, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
Other corporate roles included serving as Sr. Vice President for MICA/Benicorp Insurance Company where he was responsible for recruiting, leadership assessment, Balanced Scorecard development and implementation along with other general management functions.
Earlier, Richard was recruited by one of his clients, CNA Insurance Companies, to work in their corporate headquarters in Chicago to establish and lead their internal executive recruiting practice servicing all lines of business within CNA Insurance companies. Additionally, he was responsible for training and development of all corporate and field management on interviewing and hiring practices.
Richard started his career in New York City with a boutique executive search firm. After five years he was promoted to Vice President of the company’s Chicago office where he developed clients in the financial services and insurance industries.

Terry McSherry, Partner
Terry McSherry is a Partner possessing more than 30 years of retained search experience and serves a variety of clients as a member of both our Industrial and Consumer practices. He has recruited a diverse mix of senior and mid-level management executives for trusting clients in positions ranging from President/CEO/COO/General Managers to functional executives in marketing/development, finance, IT and human resources. He is experienced across several industries, including food/fragrance manufacturing, consumer products, retail, and others. Assignments have included positions in manufacturing and production operations, quality, engineering, supply chain and logistics.
Terry has recruited for nearly every senior position within a manufacturing and/or distribution organization. Clients regard him as an experienced search consultant and a business partner who takes the required time to learn the nuances of their organization and industry. Candidates embrace his thorough, engaging, and credible presentation of clients and opportunities. Each party recognizes that they have an articulate and passionate voice on their behalf.
Prior to aligning with Nick Pierce at Pierce Consulting Partners, Terry was the founding Partner at Terry McSherry Associates, and before that a Partner at boutique retainer search firm Allerton Heneghan & O’Neill where he worked for more than a dozen years until the last of the firm’s founding partners retired in late 2014. Before joining AHO, he was a Director with Chicago-based Kensington International and prior to that was a Partner in a technologically pioneering global executive search firm. Still earlier Terry was a Senior Manager in the executive search practice of Ernst and Young (EY). His initial industry experience included corporate recruiting and human resource management responsibility for a $1 billion international foodservice company. Terry holds a B.A. degree from Marquette University.

Andy Panega, Partner
Andy Panega is a Partner with Pierce Consulting Partners and possesses 30 years of experience in human resource management, serving in both corporate and consulting roles.
Prior to joining the firm he served as Chief Human Resources Officer at The Lubrizol Corporation, a $7 billion global component of Berkshire Hathaway and one of Warren Buffett’s “Powerhouse Six.” Reporting to the company’s COB/CEO, Andy held global responsibilities with them for over seven years.
Prior to Lubrizol, Andy founded two companies, one that focused on comprehensive health and disease prevention and another that provided merger and acquisition integration strategies.
Previously Andy functioned as Chief Human Resources Officer for R.R. Donnelley & Sons for 10 years, a $12 billion global employer. There he led all Human Resources functions, including organization strategy and policy, talent acquisition and talent management, organizational design, executive compensation and labor and employee relations.
Additional experience includes serving as Director, Human Resources for Kelly Services where he led human resources for 10 business segments totaling $800 million in revenue and Director, Human Resources for Benetton Sportssystem, Dun & Bradstreet (Nielsen Media Research), Tonka Corporation and Manager, Human Resources for General Mills.
Andy has an MBA, Finance and BS, Human Resources from Western Illinois University. He has also served as Chairman, Human Resources Committee for the YMCA, Cleveland.
